People Magazine sets new standard for iPad magazines
Today People magazine was launched on the iPad. Although I'm a bit biased I think it's fair to say that this is by far the best Digital Magazine available today. Like TIME Magazine was an important industry milestone on iPad launch day, People is setting the bar to a new level for the industry.
The 'Second Issue Problem'
Some people familiar with launching new print titles might be familiar with the so-called 'Second Issue Problem'. You have been working very hard for months on a new title, new concepts, design, great stories etc. The big day arrives and you have completed the first issue, hurrah! And then comes the second issue... for which you only have one week or one month at most...

WoodWing only affordable for the biggest publishers?
It's now 6 months ago since Steve Jobs announced the iPad. It has been a crazy 6 months :-)
We have seen huge interest in our Digital Magazine solution that allows publishers to efficiently publish to the iPad. This interest is ranging from the largest publishers of the world to 1-man design studio's. iPad & Editorial Workflow
A lot has been written about the iPad since (and before) it made its debut in April in the United States. Sales have been a tremendous success and there is a constant push in areas where Apple has not launched it to start selling it as soon as possible. The iPad has been hailed by many in the publishing industry (most notably Rupert Murdoch) as the saviour of the industry. And I think they are right. Even though I must admit I was a sceptic at first, once I held one in my hands and really started using it I felt its potential impact. Not only to the publishing industry but to the way people use and interact with a computer. Because that is what it is, and a quite powerful one at that. read more >>
