[Rotterdam, November 17, 2023] – WoodWing Xtendis, which helps companies set up and implement compliant, powerful, and secure document management, reached a significant milestone last week by achieving the NEN 7510 certification.
A milestone, without a doubt, but not the first one: WoodWing Xtendis has been ISO 27001 certified for nearly a decade, meaning the organization meets the globally recognized standard in the field of information security. The newly obtained NEN 7510 certificate is a valuable addition to that previously earned ISO certification. Whereas the ISO 27001 standard is a general guideline in the field of information security that guarantees customers using WoodWing Xtendis' SaaS service that their data is safely stored, the NEN 7510 standard has a number of healthcare-specific benchmarks. These offer healthcare providers (such as hospitals or blood banks, for example) the guarantee that personal healthcare documents stored in Xtendis will be looked at even more critically from a security point of view.
“Of course, it helps that we have had information security as a high priority for so long. ‘Security by design’ is in our employees' DNA. And yet we see that by obtaining this certificate, we have taken this motto one step further. Good for our healthcare customers and good for all other customers who entrust their data to Xtendis”, said Nanno Westra, security officer at WoodWing Xtendis and responsible for the NEN 7510 implementation.
It was a special week in terms of certifications for WoodWing Xtendis. In addition to the news about obtaining the NEN 7510 Healthcare-specific certification, there is also an update on the ISO 27001 certification of WoodWing Xtendis to report. Organizations around the world that hold an ISO 27001 certificate based on the 2013 standard are required to update their certification to the modernized 2022 standard. This standard has been updated and expanded to include measures against current threats companies have to deal with. By 2025, all companies with an ISO 27001 certification must comply with the 2022 standard. WoodWing Xtendis has already demonstrated the successful implementation of all the additional measures included in the 2022 standard, in addition to the existing measures. WoodWing Xtendis is way ahead of the new requirement, which emphasizes the importance that the WoodWing organization places on optimal information security from A to Z.
